History

Marin Mūnchies' founder, Katja Reitemeyer, was born in Germany and began making her own cakes, cookies and chocolatey desserts as a child. In the early 2000's, she was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and a multitude of other severe food allergies, putting all of those sweet treats she had enjoyed her entire life suddenly and seemingly out of reach.

Refusing to give in, she began experimenting with new recipes, and in the process, re-kindled her passion for making chocolate. Only this time, she would re-think everything, from the kind of beans she sourced to the sugar she used to the equipment in her production process. Her chocolate would be as “pure” as she could make it, and free of the harmful ingredients that dilute so many other recipes.

What started with simple and homemade recipes soon evolved into a larger bean-to-bar business endeavor, and from that humble beginning, Marin Mūnchies was born.

Today, Marin Mūnchies creates and sells a range of pure, delicious chocolate online. We hope you enjoy them!
